Life choice

友人の妹の結婚式に参加しました。
妹は両親のすすめで結婚を決意しました。
両親は彼女にふさわしいであろう男性を選び抜きました。
彼女はそれに従いました。

友人は言いました。
「二人はお互いのことを知らず今は愛し合っていない、でも日々を過ごすことで幸せになれる。」
それはわたしにはない選択肢です。
親を大切にするカンボジアの文化を理解しきれない点でもあります。
でも最終的に幸せになれればなんでもいいのかもしれません。
親の希望をかなえてあげられますし。

さて、幸せとはどのような感じでしょうか。

彼女の幸せを祈ります。
とても美しい花嫁さんでした。

I joined the wedding ceremony of my friend's younger sister.
She decided this impoortant life choice by her parent's direction.
They chose the man who will marry her very carefully.
And she received this choice finally.

My friend said to me, " They don't love each other now, but if time passes, they know each other and their life will be happy."
I said " Really? If me, I would like to choose my partner by love and sincere."
"Yes, I did like this. However my sister wished to receive the parent's direction .This is one shape of love in Cambodia. "

I will not decide the life choice like hers.
Still now, maybe I can't understand this story a little bit.
However maybe it is no matter to think it is good or not, if in the future it goes true.

By the way for you, what is happiness?
